雪のヘルシンキより

Hei, Regards from snow white Helsinki! I am looking forward to coming to Tokyo and Japan. It has been my dream since my childhood – so this is my very first time in Japan. I am working intensively to get my exhibition works ready and start the travel. I am especially happy that I will be travelling at Sakura time!
In Helsinki it feels spring when there is more light. My friend, who moved from Germany to Finland told me that it took her few years to understand, what the finns ment by spring. It is not trees turning green or weather becoming warmer – it means more daylight. I think this year I have paid more attention to the ‘wonders of the nature’ like snowing. It is because I am observing the world with my one and half year old daughter. Her enthusiasm to big heavy snowflakes drifting down quietly has opened my eyes as well.What a wonderfull things there are just in our everyday lives.

こんにちは。雪のヘルシンキよりごあいさつ申し上げます。
東京、日本に行くのが楽しみです。
今回が初めての来日です。子供のころから日本へ行くのが夢でした。
今、私は展示会の作品制作と旅行の準備の真っ最中です。
今回の来日はちょうど桜の季節に行けるとあって、とても楽しみです。
一方、ヘルシンキでは日の光が多くなってきたら春です。
ドイツからきた友人は、フィンランドでは何が春が来た証拠なのか分かるまで何年か時間がかかったそうです。
フィンランドでは木々が緑になるわけでもなく、温暖な気候になるわけではありません。日の光の量なのです。
　今年、私は「自然の不思議」、例えば「雪」などについて考えることが多くなりました。
恐らく、１才半の娘と一緒に物事（世界）を見ているからだと思います。
娘は大きい雪の結晶が静かに舞う光景が大好きなのですが、その光景は私にとっては大きな発見でした。
普段の日常生活の中にはステキなものが溢れているんですね。
